A study tour, exclusively for IIID members and their associates. We visited Japan, where we focused on Public Transport Design, Travel Style and Passengers Experience. Together with a seminar on October 15th, in cooperation of IIID with the Japanese Sign Design Association.

Begin in Tokyo: went by metro, bus and taxi, discovered Tokyo´s places of interest and visited the brand new Tokyo Sky Tree. Were guest of the JR East Frontier Service Research Laboratory and exchanged ideas and expertise with local professionals at the seminar, organized by the Japanese Sign Design Association. After heading to Kyoto by Shinkansen, the 9-hours capsule hotel welcomed us to stay, before the route lead the next day to Osaka to have a detailed observation of the transport system. The way back to Tokyo was a unique experience by overnight-bus and ended with a guided tour at the Haneda Airport.
